Exploring the Teal Veil

General Summary

While exploring and mapping the Teal Veil, the party encountered three Forest Kavus. The battle was swift, with only minor injuries that Flimsly and the others tended to after their fight with the Hag of the Golden Grove.

During her watch, Amaira crept up to a pack of these large green creatures but was unexpectedly blasted with water by one of the Kavus'. Reacting instantly, she let out a Battle Cry, alerting the camp to the danger. Xat and Amaira were caught in the powerful jaws of the creatures but managed to break free. Meanwhile, a third Kavu charged toward the backline, unleashing a powerful jet of water. Amaira and Xat rushed to intercept, cutting and pummeling the creature into pieces before it could do further harm.

The following day, the party stumbled upon a steaming, swampy mud spring. As Xat approached, he noticed two large eyes emerging from the Bubbling Muck—belonging to a giant frog. He cautiously offered his pipe as a gesture of peace but was caught off guard when another frog lunged from the sludge below. The party sprang into action, swiftly dispatching the creatures. Afterward, they spent time skinning the frogs and harvesting their edible parts to prepare for that evening’s meal.

Later, as the sun began to set, the group came upon a small stone structure, partially sunken into the marsh. Ever curious, Xat approached, only to be confronted by a Boggard, clad in armor crafted from various turtle shells, wielding a club and javelins on its back. The creature leaped down from the ruins, facing Xat, who instinctively offered his pipe once more.

With a deep, croaking voice, the Boggard repeated a single word four times—though distorted, it almost sounded like: "Truce."
