Party gathered for breakfast the next day.
Sorin and Zayd both saw a man while riding last night
- Same man who had tried to buy the party in jail
- Man was riding toward Atan estate
Alín arrived with the book pages found at Malek's
Alín gave some background info on the book
- Stolen from their clan - Samanehn - when Alín’s grandmother was young
- Also stolen was some jewelry and the Keeper’s staff
- Book is very old
- Book written in an older dialect of Elvish
- Book is incomplete - pages picked apart and studied
The pages they stole were annotated and referenced journals
The pages showed a door with nine keyholes
Sorin recognized the numbers and some words mentioned
- Inigo’s rings called Mother
- Something called Protection is going up[ for auction

Zayd went to the Perfumed Spring (brothel)
- Succeeded in getting a discount
- Also got a discount for the guy next to him
Sorin and Jarryn visited Osrick
- Found out Osrick is attention the auction
- Asked about getting fancy clothes for the auction
Jarryn bought a map
Visted Serafina to warn her about giving out her information
- She was busy
- Left her with a note asking to speak with her ASAP
Visited Alín

Party went back to Corelli estate to blackmail him
Broke into the estate
Went upstairs to confront Corelli
Found a young man in bed
- Arturo Corelli is actually the young lord
- Giuseppe is his elderly servant
Party threatened Arturo and demanded to be taken to Faro
- Arturo reluctantly agreed
- Was a brat the entire time
Party left him and promised to return in a week
Jarryn kissed Arturo on the head before leaving

Party returned home
Soon, there was a knock on the door
- Serafina was there
- Talia Atan and Jacob the Apprentice with her
Talia and Jacob had fled the Atan estate soon after Malek’s death
Talia explained that a friend of Malek’s had arrived very quickly
- Urso, a business associate of Malek’s
Urso took over and told Talia he would take care of everything
- Locked her and Jacob out of Malek’s office
More men arrived during the night
- Began to pack up Malek’s workshop and office
- Gave Talia a bad feeling
Talia and Jacob grabbed what they could and fled
Talia gave information about her past
- Born in Ostwick; Malek was nearly 10 years older than her
- He fled as a young man when discovered as a mage
- Talia sent to the Circle in her teens
- Malek returned one day and bought her freedom
- She convinced him to buy Jacob’s way too
Jacob explained some of his role
- He worked as an apprentice to repay Malek
- He wasn’t clear on how or why Malek was doing things
- Malek belonged to some group who was backing him
Talia said that they were leaving the city
- Not sure where they’ll go
Talia didn’t blame party for what happened
