S5: Back in Dunwell Report
General Summary
Returning to Dunwell
During your time in Dunwell, a series of encounters unfolded in the RP heavy session. First, there was a chat with the imprisoned Gunnar in the Gibbet, reavealing the death of a orphan girl in the town while you were gone followed by a persuasive conversation with Verus thatset the stage for future negotiations and uncovered the manipulative presence of the Quasital, a devil that had been orchestrating things from behind the scenes, killing the Aurelintail.
Then, there was the philosophical dive into the realm of Paramitra with Sato, where the teachings of "all is one" intermingled with discussions of Romulus, the Nephalim, cosmic lore, and a tantalizing mention of Alderland with its magnificent library. Vass had a different personal engagement; he visited his employers, figures who've been parental influences in his life, and leveraged the captive Gunnar by offering food in exchange for valuable information into the missing girl and the mans weak aliby.
Lavinia took left a letter intended for the governor, signaling a future meeting.
It was at the Sable, over a hearty lunch, that you met the noble garrison solider Gaius (Cody). Finding a kindred spirit or perhaps just valuing his skills, he was brought into the fold. He told you he is comitted to guard duty that evening but he wanted to help with the investigation. Informed you that the man that discovered Gunnar after his bender and the evidence of the missing child, was Sir. Kingsly, the garrison blacksmith

Further investigation led you to Eira, a distressed mother seeking her missing daughter, making 2 missing children, one from a few weeks ago, another a few days ago. While seeking more clues, you ventured to the local church. Although the conversation with the priest didn't provide the answers you sought, it was far from a waste. Your endeavors ultimately led you to Warden Lucius. With courage, you disclosed your knowledge of the Quasital to him. In a surprising move, he delved into Lavinia's mind to ascertain the truth. Not only did he confirm your suspicions, but Lucius also unveiled his affiliation with the Deathwatch Brotherhood.
The session reached its peak when Lucius hinted at his true purpose in Dunwell: he was investigating potential ruins beneath the town, all somehow linked to the imminent solar eclipse. In a chilling conclusion, he ominously suggested that with the eclipse's arrival, the Hells might make their presence known on the material plane.
