Session 1: Hatching a plan Report

General Summary

The party getting the chance to walk around a bit and think their situation over met up to discuss ways to escape. The Elf noting their suspicious behavior moved over to the party only being noticed by Rhagnor and Azubuike at first. Telling the party that she will join them if they are trying to escape. Talking over their plan with the Elf, who introduced herself as Glime from Northpass, they decided on fire as the best distraction. Gathering tufts of dry grass for tinder the signal for dinner was sounded. The party moved over to their cart to receive their grub. One of the guards noticing something strange on Azubuike but luckily before he found out Azubuike had all the tinder on him Dena saved him by distracting the guard and asking for more water. With the little time that the party had left they moved in position. Azubuike moved under the cart hiding the grass and Dena walked towards one of the torches a bit away from their cart. Using her hidden step she disappeared from view and lit up one of the tents as a distraction. At first, the plan seemed to work, soldiers were distracted by the fire and gathered around the burning tent. But with their discipline, they managed to put out the fire before the party could make their next move.   Distraught by their failed attempt the party gathered again at their cart where they await the soldiers to be counted and put back in their cage. During the wait, Rhogar overcome by a coughing and burping fit produced a small number of sparks and black smoke. Alarming two soldiers nearby. Rhogar, seeing the guards with partly drawn weapons, did his best to stop his coughing. The guards annoyed and still looking angry moved back to their tents and started a conversation while looking over to Rhogar and pointing at some ropes. As the soldiers count the heads of the captives they stop: “where is the dwarf from your cart?” one of them asks. “I saw him lit the fire just now," Azubuike responded without a moment of hesitation. The guards, after a quick exchange of words in Tel’a’Sei, drove the party into their cage and moved on towards the next wagon. Seeing no further options the party decides to sleep for the night and rest.   The next morning the party awakens again by the rattling of the cart. The soldiers broke up camp and the colony is moving again. During their trek across the tundra the tree line and with it the border to Nastarith slowly disappears. As the evening came around the captives were let out of their cages for their stretch and other needs. While the party discussed their next plan the important looking soldier with the scar on his cheek came over. “So you are the lot who have been causing a ruckus in my camp?” he started: “putting my tents on fire, trying to escape. You are lucky that you lot seem to be the most valuable of all these pathetic creatures.” Looking each of the party down. While the party tried to convince the Tel’a’Sei that they had nothing to do with these situations the Tel’a’Sei soldier seemed to only grow more annoyed. Yulius stepped to the front asked the name of the soldier and where they are now. “My name is Ravnos Tozar, Why should you have to know where we are heading?” Yulius explaining that he was documenting the history of the continent managed to get a smile on the face of Ravnos. “That is very interesting, what kind of information do you have documented, of kings and kingdoms and such?” Yulius confirming this interested Ravnos even more “Very well then you will be summoned.” He said while turning around and moving away from the party further through the camp.   As Ravnos was getting out of sight a group of dwarves came to the party “Hey! You there. You accused us of starting the fire!” the dwarf in front said balling his fists. With a failed attempt to diffuse the situation, the dwarves started a brawl, gathering a crowd of other captives around them. Dana making use of this situation sneaked out of sight, found her target, a large goliath, and punched him low in his legs. Moving quickly she disappeared using her hidden step. The Goliath now enraged saw the dwarves with raised fists and knocked one of them down with a brutal tackle. The brawl slowly spread across the other captives and chaos was taking over in the camp. The dwarves, being too weak to fight the party, gave up after Azubuike convinced them that they did not cast suspicion on the dwarves. The younger brother of the dwarves still laying in the party’s cage was looking iller by the moment. The dwarf leading the group asked without much hope: “you do not know where we can find any medicine do you?” Azubuike pointed them to one of the tents with weapons and gear from the captives.   The dwarves hopeful moved towards the tent away from the brawling stage. A group of Tel’a’Sei noting the direction the dwarves were walking in followed them from a distance with weapons partly unsheathed.   Meanwhile, more people joined the fight as it grew. Yulius jumped upon one of the carts and exclaimed: “people don’t fight! Use this distraction to escape!” as more Tel’a’Sei came to look at the brawl, Yulius on his way down from the cart, climbed up again an yelled: “Nevermind! Continue!.”   Using the window created by this distraction Rhogar moved towards one of the carts some distance away from them. Trying to light it on fire with his breath without being noticed. Azubuike and Yulius knowing that the focus of the Tel’a’Sei was now fully on the brawl moved towards one of the tents close to where their gear was stashed. Seeing the dwarves now next to one of those tents and the Tel’a’Sei surrounding them they saw their chance clean to move behind the other tent containing weapons and other valuables. with deftness, Yulius moved between the tents. As Azubuike tried to follow one of the guards just looked to the sight and yelled: “what are you doing with our food?!” Azubuike trying to talk his way out of it pointed towards the cart now being fully ablaze. The guard cursing ran away taking some of their companions to douse the flames.   Azubuike moving into the tent with Yulius gathered some basic equipment a map and a silver spoon with the G engraved on it.   Rhogar seeing an opening in the confusion moved back over to Dana still hiding behind the cart, slung her over his shoulder and moved towards the tent where Azubuike and Yulius were waiting.
