It's a Hard Knock Life!

General Summary

The time had come for the young birds to leave the nest for good. Itsy, Izzk, Nynaeve, and Pyotr traveled with Mother Maggie through the lower district, stopping by the ACME Supply Store to pick up gear and provisions. The gear was cheap, yet suspiciously shoddy. From there the group hiked up the steps along the shelf into the upper district, quickly reaching the Adventuring Guild. The ground floor of the building was a beehive of activity, with adventurers from near and far trading and negotiating various contracts. The group continued out the back of the building, entering Hogan's Alley, the testing center where they met Brother Nye. While the group's members were still too young to take the test required for admittance into the Adventuring Guild, Mother Maggie was easily able to convince Brother Nye to let the group be tested together. It was clear that Mother Maggie had done this more than a few times. Once inside the testing center, the group bashed their way through many sets of doors, negotiated a spike-filled pit with Pyotr falling on a spike, avoided wall-mounted spike traps, and fought 4 giant rats (with Izzk and Nynaeve both taking significant damage) before resting in a plush room filled with sumptuous food. Continuing on, the group jammed and disabled a blade trap, then fought an enchanted suit of armor. Izzk restrained it with grasping vines while the others attacked it. Itsy was gravely wounded, but Pyotr was able to quickly finish it off with an acid orb. The last challenge was a riddle; a room with two paths and two guards. One path led to safety, the other to danger. One guard always told the truth and one guard always lied. The group was allowed one question to one guard. After much discussion the group determined the correct answer: "Which door would the other guard say leads to safety?" Taking the correct door, the group was returned to the entrance room, where they were greeted by four unknown individuals.
