Session 3: The Carinae (Pt. II)

General Summary

Kriskain and Galmake the time-old mistake of trying to speak to a more-adult adult, this one being Oroton. They fail to lie to Oroton about why they were snooping, but successfully tell him about the Beholder-ish thing, which leads Oroton to very bravely run away from both the upper decks and the conversation.

  Fekitoa, always happy to flirt and terrify, tells the Lawful Duo that Oroton's a coward and that whatever they saw came from deep space and hitched a ride. Kriskain and Gal ask how something can live in space, and Fekitoa instead tells them the Carinae's motto: Beyond The Gnome. This is not actually the Carinae's motto. Fekitoa advises the Lawful Duo to seek out another crew member to help them, since neither they nor Lomion can leave the bridge.

  Gal and Kriskain only then remember that they were assigned to help Engineering, but decide that they'd prefer to fight with someone their own size and head off in search of Val.

  Lomion continues to drive.

  Val, meanwhile, does her rogue thing and steals shit from the cargo hold even as she interrogates chats with Meritt about her space suit. She wanders off to snoop explore and ducks into Engineering, where she fails to avoid a suspicious Adriella's notice. She retreats to the mess hall to find Karida putting the finishing touches on Gal and Kriskain's spacesuits. With Karida's help (?) she manages to acquire some personal effects from the deceased crew, which she runs down to the cargo hold at his request, presumably as part of a bluff. She continues to explore the ship, discovering the labs, the menagerie, the Beholder-ish thing, and Oroton's personal log, which she retreats to the cargo hold to read.

  Kriskain and Gal ind Meritt, whom Kriskain snipes at. They continue on to find Karida with the beautiful completed space suits, which they spend some time posing in. Then, finally, they manage to track down Val in the cargo hold.

This report was written over a year after the actual session, and for some reason I (the DM) have kept horrifyingly poor notes on this one. Forgive me.
