Session 9 Report

General Summary

The party is separated in in the city of Crook Crag. While everyone had their own adventures, Azarath, N4, and Maz all gathered at the tower of the mage Iados. This strange half-spirit offers advice about where the Fen may be located. He seems to know a good amount about the Fen. One thing he tells the party that they did not know was that there was a bounty out for them.   It is decided that the Driada Guild may be a good place to check out about the Fen. N4 leaves Woodwing with Iados, hoping that nothing bad happens to the hippogriff pup. The party begins to make their way to the guild compound with plans of sneaking in invisibly and by means of deception.   Outside the free-standing building of the Driada guild are two guards with a regal bearing and long spears. When the party attempts to sneak in they are spotted, even the invisible Azarath. Still, the guards let the party into the guild compound.   The first chamber the party comes to is a circular chamber with a fountain being the centerpiece of the room. There are two sections of the fountain that are connected by a small path of water. In the fountain is two statues of wizards that appear to be in a spell duel with one another. Fire, lighting, and ice fly between them. In this chamber a man descends the stairs, Olim Sevra, a bard who has a loose connection to the guild. He assures the party that he has never heard of anyone named "The Hammer" and wishes them luck in their search.   Twin staircases lay behind the fountain that leads up to the second floor. The party can see that there are similar hallways on the first and second floors. Two doors sit on each side of the hallways with a singular door at the end of the hallways. At this point, the party decides to split up. N4 goes all the way to the end of the hallway on the first floor and through the door. He finds a staircase that descends down into the basement where there are a variety of storage rooms and a kitchen whose being operated by invisible servants.   Azarath climbs to the second floor to the end of the hall. The doorway to the end reveals a library with a stained glass domed room. A metal staircase leads up to the third floor with eight chairs all in a circle. They lay around a pedestal of stone, a black bowl that appears to be on fire sits on top of it.   Maz stays in the first-floor corridor and opens the four doors that sit perpendicular to one another. Behind each one he finds a glowing portal; sticking his trident into one he finds that it is pulled through and he wisely does not follow. Meeting up, the party decides that they won't find anything in this guild and decides to head to the Artificer's Laboratory. While on the road they run into Datheor and are promptly ambushed by bounty hunters.
