Session 1: Home in the Tower Report

General Summary

On the 14th night of the Orange Moon, the Adventurers of the Briar find their night plagued by assassins. Lord N4 spots them attempting to scale the walls of of Briar Reach. Using his nature powers he summons a storm of lighting and attempts to strike them off the tower. Unfortunately, it does not have the effect he was hoping and the Fen Hunter manages to climb into the chapel with Mattyito.   Azarath, upon hearing an exploding flashbang arrow bolts through the tower, although we all know that it wasn't in a desire to save Mattyito. Of course, Mattyito does not need help, even though a red armored assassin joins the Fen Hunter. Taking a hit from a shortsword, Mattyito retaliates with his repulsor shield and sends the Fen Hunter flying out the window. When he uses his Hook of the Grappler to wrap up the red armor assassin Azarath joins him and attempts to stab the man in the throat. Although the assassin survived and attempted to jump out the window, the opportunity attacks of Mattyito and Azarath had other plans. He did leave an exploding grenade as he plummets to the earth and breaks his legs.   On the ground, N4 finds himself with 3 enemies in front of him and uses the Sleep spell on the Fen Hunter and one of the red armored assassins. It affects the broken-legged man but the Fen Hunter dimension doors away. In a show of intimidation, N4 tries to scare the remaining assassin.... who shakes and collapses dead.   Although the Fen Hunter teleported far, the group jumps on their horses and tracks him down to a clearing in the Northeastern woods. The sun had begun to rise in the east as they neared the clearing where they believe the assassin to be headed. While the sunlight started to illuminate the dense woods, they saw a strange purplish glow. Strange runes have been etched into the earth around a tree trunk. They could see the assassin chanting in a strange arcane language by the trunk. There also appeared to be a captive tied up nestled in a grouping of boulders.   Tepacs appear in ambush and manage to permanently scar N4 on his face. Mattyito yells at the captive, a cleric by the name of Tenerok who manages to break free from his binding. Combat rages all around and the group attempts to stop the spell the Fen Hunter is casting. During this time Mattyito realizes it is a teleportation spell. A wall of fire appears in the middle of the forest, lightning crashes throughout. Azarath disappears and reappears in a deadly blur, finally ending the life of the Fen Hunter. The tepacs flee after several of them fall and the group shows no mercy. Casting Fireballs with impunity, the Tepacs are killed. You bring the Fen Hunter's body back to the tower, removing the diamond eye of his and noticing the writing on his arm.   Ivgfim gl gsv Rhov zmw yvtrm gsv jfvhg uli Xiviziv'h Glny. As he is consoled, N4 once again demonstrates his artistic genius with Bondage Rope tying.   The sun has risen on a new adventure.
