I think it looks fine, i agree its a css issue, but should be fixed in a "per person, per theme " basis. Dimi is too busy to rewrite CSS for themes they did not make.
This is a combination of theme CSS and changes to sidebar code. So a visual issue that you can either fix yourself or ask the person who created the theme to do so. That being said, there does need to be some cleanup when it comes to the sidebar structure, because there are so many different structures that its really hard to cover everything.
I've noticed this too, as a result I never use the automated entries when doing manual ones (the -- key : : value -- pairs), so that it all looks the same.
