  I'd like to add the suggestion that this be a toggable feature/a feature with multiple settings. Something like being able to turn "manuscript wordcount" tracking on and off, and/or the option to have the manuscript wordcount either merged with or displayed separate from the article wordcount.

  I want to upvote this, with the caveat that the manuscript wordcount goal should be separate from my worldbuilding wordcount goal. I'd love a progress bar that adds up and displays my different prose works/manuscripts and displays it to me, of a sort of statistics tracker for manuscripts that tracks across multiple manuscripts, but I don't want it combined with my worldbuilding wordcount because to me they are very different.
