Autolinker skip skip-all selective-replace
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
The autolinker can be cumbersome to use for larger articles, especially if you have a lot of articles with common names you often use when not intending to reference them. Using the automatic replace features can be limiting and indiscriminate to how you want links distributed, and the selective replace feature can become very tedious when you need to skip a lot of possible references.
As an example, If I have an article titled "Damage" that explains how damage is handled in my system, then every use of the word damage in every article turns up a hit for the autolinker, meaning I would often have to click through a lot of skips, especially when articles go long. If I could click "skip all" the first time damage came up, it could save quite a bit of time, and save me from having to come up with more obfuscated article titles.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
If there was an option to "skip all" for a specific article title, it would allow for much faster use of the selective replace feature for longer articles. The button would automatically skip any further references to that article, so you don't have to click skip again every time the title of that article is used again.
The Team's Response
Thanks for your suggestion! This won't be implemented due to very low community support—I recommend using the "Replace First of Each" button instead, which will skip all other occurrrences of the link.
