Stop jumping to a pin/area on mouseover (maps)

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

If i mouseover a area the map jumps to the pin. This is not practical if the area (in case of a district in a city) is quite large and the user has zoomed in. In this case mousing over an area that is not completly on screen will make the map jump so that the pin of that area is within the field of view.   A video says mor than 1ooo words! As this might be a feature i guess it is not a bug. It would just be good if i could turn it on/off.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

I could start using my map and it would not jump around like Kris Kross.

The Team's Response

Closing because of extremely low support BUT I will take under consideration during the specification of the Atlas project. Added to the list of points.

Jumping to the center of the area the cursor happened to slide across is NOT the behaviour I want. Users don't always move their cursor intentionally and will lose track of where they were. And it can be hard to get back there since you keep letting stepped to that center.

What helps to avoid this behavior is to have your district markup in one Marker Group, and your Points of Interest pins in another Marker group. Then simply switch off the district Marker Group by default. Mostly players tend to remember the districts and if they forget they can enable the group anytime through the menu in the upper right corner of the map then hide it again if it gets in the way on closer zoom levels. Hope this helps!

I have honestly watched the video 3 times, I cannot understand what you are trying to change, your pins are jumping because, from what I can see, they are big areas and trying to focus in the center of them ... which is exactly how I would like it to be.
