Non-clickable option for map label (or even markers)

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

The ability to make a label or marker non-clickable. Currently it can only be achieved with css with the pointer-events: none; but it would be great to only have some labels non-clickable.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

Currently you cant put a visual label over an area without also having to link something (usually the same thing) to the label.

What are other uses for this feature request?

You can label regions, towns, mountains, rivers without having to edit the map image behind. If you can make non-clickable other things then you can even draw on the map potentially with them. The current expected use case is that the map image contains the labels already, but that's not too dynamic, especially if someone commissions their map and doesn't have the artistic ability to change it. Having labels on top look really cool already, i just wish I didn't have to double-link stuff for them. Example map where I use these is in the url section.

The current option is to css them away, but I might want clickable labels too in the future, hence the suggestion.

I love you Dimi / whoever accepted it for doing it despite low support!! ❤️

I've already run into limitations with the map labels & their inability to handle anything other than straight horizontal lines, when I was trying to add a label layer for rivers. Having more flexible labels would allow much more to be achieved with the maps feature, such as for instance zooming into a map for greater topographical detail but keeping the text size the same so it doesn't fill the screen.

YES! I was considering suggesting it myself as I was getting frustrated without a way to easily place moveable labels on my maps.
