It is quite nice to be able to write and edit things easily on the go. I was a bit disappointed to see there wasn't an app already, but I am fully behind making one.
I don't think there's a need for this: proper CSS usage in themes will make Mobile usage of WorldAnvil to be reactive on mobile devices. Perhaps there could be better responsive themes to make it easier for Mobile users to view WorldAnvils. I know that as someone who *actually* knows about programming (20 years of development work) (dear OP, saying you apparently know nothing about programming is not a good idea when trying to convince people) Creating a Mobile App does *not* automatically create a better experience on Mobile. On the contrary, I have used services in which the Mobile Web version of the service is greater than the Mobile App version of the service.
It's already being worked on, and should remain low priority. WorldAnvil is primarily a desktop platform; focusing on a mobile app would just be wasteful.
I understand wanting to have a mobile app, but as others have said it's already in the works. Also, your follow up is quite cruel, as people were just trying to state a point which is fair. I know it's not convenient to pull World Anvil up on your phone, but the team working on this project is small and an app is not their top priority. Please be considerate of that and don't hassle them about something they can't make happen quickly
It's in the works. And your response is just plain nasty. I know a *ton* about programming - I've been a senior software and systems architect for over 30 years - and I will tell you that developing a mobile app for WA will be a major project that will cost a lot of money and take a long time to do. How much would you pay to be able to use WA's mobile app?
Please also fix manuscripts for mobile formatting. Sometimes you simply must edit at 3am on your cellphone!
Pleaaaaase world anvil on mobile browser atm is so broken. I cant open categories and write new articles without the UI just glitching and freaking out
I think this would be a great idea even if it started off as simple being able to create, and edit articles with out all the extra detail.
This would be awesome. I sometimes have ideas late at night, when its not viable to start up a laptop, or when I'm out and about waiting for people and WA is awful to try to work with on a browser on my phone.
This is, in a way, already mobile. You can open the site on your phone anywhere and build where ever you are. Also, this has been suggested multiple times. It's been stated in newsletters and on other suggestions that this is in the works. Please read the previous suggestions before making a new one. Making an app is not like building the site and takes time and manpower, and there are tons of other things they have in the works that they've been working diligently on. Be patient and give this incredible team the time they need to do what their many followers asked them.
I'm always daydreaming and thinking about my world while away from my computer but when i use the website on my phone i find myself just writing down ideas to put in later. It's a lot of work but i need this!
I'd love to see this on mobile so I can work on my worlds and campaigns on the go!
If you keep bugging them like this, they might say they'll never do the mobile app. Just deal with it for now and wait, it is coming eventually but they do not have the manpower for it right now
I love this in general even if it is more of a way to check what has been prepared somewhere else having the abbility to use a phone or tablet as a player/GM makes more sense in todays world.
I have the best ideas while at work or on the go haha. Having a way to jot down quick notes or entire articles when I have free time would be fantastic! Doing things from the website on mobile is alright but its a bit clunky. A fast, simple, easy to use mobile app would help a lot. Organizing articles and notes wouldn't be as important but just being able to write things down quickly at any moment would be appreciated. I'm loving World Anvil, thank you!
I agree or at least if an app is not possible at least have it usable from the browser on a mobile device.
They have said multiple times, despite great support for the prospect, that a mobile app is very low on their priorities. Suggestions are *generally* meant for improving things they are not aware of as being problems or adding things they have not thought of. This is neither.
We have this suggestion every week Also, your follow up is not helping you gaining support.
A mobile app would be so helpful. I'm always on the move and I would love to write from my phone.
I'm all for reprioritizing the mobile app as I'm broadly satisfied by WA's present functionality as is (I can't believe this is still beta, its great!), and will support efforts advocating as such, but if the devs have already said this isn't possible and can't be done until afterward WA is out of beta, I understand. That said, I'd also specifically bump the idea of a barebones mobile app with enough to access article creation templates. That's all I really want from the app anyways.
Dude! This HAS ALREADY been SUGGESTED and IS in the WORKS! PLEASE be patient and STOP wasting everyone's time
There’s already one planned but it won’t happen until WA is out of beta
I get it, I really do, but consistently bugging the devs about this, when they have explained that they won't have the capacity to start development yet in multiple suggestions won't make them work faster. WA is a small team, and they already said they will do it, they just won't do it before the next WA version is done because they cannot to both at the same time.
