What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Vocalization of the entire article text using a selection of A.I. voice commands, with the inclusion and click of one button within the article. Imagine clicking on a speaker icon at the top of an article, and hearing a clear concise voice reading the text of the article for you, from title down to category subsections. The implementation of this function I imagine would not be an easy task, but I think this is a good idea for a larger project of new feature presentations.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

Currently, at least as far as I am aware of, there is no function from World Anvil settings or editors that allow for this. It would be important to point out that some A.I. voice applications such as Siri, Google Assistant, and Windows (through virtual basic script) do not sound totally natural when speaking in dialect. The aim of the function would be to use an application or development that would sound as close to human (or with a soothing voice effect) as possible. It could therefore be possible to host the funding for this by making the feature available to higher level subscribers so that they can include this service. A bigger idea, I know, but hopefully a good one.

What are other uses for this feature request?

Certain computer users who have accessibility options enabled already use their own similar features to hear website information being read back to them. But the vocalization options to World Anvil would be primarily for better presentation, an attraction to the site for many who do not yet know how wonderful World Anvil is.

The Team's Response

I am sorry but this is not what World Anvil is and it requires hundreds of people and resources to do something like that

This kind of suggestions is the reason that listening to people without any understanding of technology should not happen.   Go get a text to voice plugin for your browser dude.
