WYSIWYG Editor: Create easily multiple levels of lists with tab

User Interface (UI) / User Experience (UX) · Editor: plato · Created by TheSunbr0

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

It is already possible to create multiple levels of a list with the source editor:
  1. One
    1. One
    2. Two
  2. Two
But it is time consuming to do this. My suggestion ist, that you can automatically create a new level when you press tab in an empty list entry, as it is standard across many other editors. The feature, that you can finish the current level and go back with the previous one with enter also already exists.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

It makes it much more comfortable to create lists with multiple levels.

What are other uses for this feature request?

There are none.

IDK about Plato's WYSIWYG. It doesn't support all BBCode and I haven't used it in ages. However, lists are incredibly easy in Euclid. (change here: https://www.worldanvil.com/dashboard/user/interface ) - it *might* work in the source code _> but idk   Basically, to do exactly what you're asking for all you do is:
    1. Item 1
    2. Item 2
    3. Item 3
      [ol]
  • Item 1 (dash, space, TEXT)
  • Item 2 (dash, dash, space, TEXT)
  • Item 3 (dash, dash, dash, space, TEXT)
  • [/ol]   The same can be done for indented bullets using [ul] and [/ul] instead   >>>(A preview on these comments would be amazing to see if the BBCode renders or not)

While this would be useful, I don't think you can do this with BBcode.   However, I support adding this functionality. If it already an option, I certainly do not know how to use it and would appreciate being enlightened.
