What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently, autosave makes creating and editing articles on the new timeline a nightmare to do. Every time WA autosaves, which is very frequently, it interupts typing. When typing is interupted it skips letters or whole words, meaning we constantly have to go back and edit the mistakes WA is causing us to make.  

How does this feature request address the current situation?

By having the option to turn off autosave, these interuptions will stop, meaning we can write properly and not constantly need to fix mistakes or write one word at a time between saves.  

What are other uses for this feature request?

Others have mentioend the autosave feature has resulted in losing a lot of work by accident, either by a keyboard slip that highlights and types over work, or by other means. Autosave is a good feature, but it is also very frustrating when it works against us.
