Autolink first per line or first per paragraph

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

In long articles not every instance of a reference needs to be linked. With the current Autolink feature it links either all of them, or you have to do a manual link, which takes a lot of time in long articles.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

Adding the posibility to autolink first per line serves as a middle ground between the two options.

What are other uses for this feature request?

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! We're declining this, as there's clearly no support from the community. The autolinker only looks at each individual text field, so if you use the "first instance only" option in each field, you'll end up with multiple links anyway.

If you would ever look up fandom articles for Warhammer 40K, Star Wars or Dragon Ball, you'd run across huge articles of over 20 pages. Adding a button for first *per line* is inefficient. If the user splits the info across headers, though, it could be for the first instance of every section. I'm adding 100 points because I'm skeptical over how massive such articles could get that such a feature will be needed.

You can also link the first mention only. I feel that is already the necessary in between all or nothing.
