Can you make 2 types of writing pages in manuscripts? One for novels (like you have it now) and one for screenplays(for movies, TV, short films, etc..). I write screenplays for movies, TV, short films, etc... When writing a screenplay for a short film or movie then it's always best to use screenwriting software so it formats your scripts in the industry standard way every screenplay writer needs to have it in. I want to be able to start writing films, short film/short stories within my world thats in the screenplay format all in one place so it keeps everything together. If you can make 2 different writing pages, one for screenplays and one for novels as an option that would be awesome. Or a feature where you push a button or something where it activates the writing page to have all the screenplay format tools just like any other screenwriting software (a really good software for that is writerduet.com). So those who wants to expand their world in the industry standard writing way for films can do so. It is possible to write a screenplay as it is just like how you can in a word document, but it takes much longer without the formatting tools that does the formatting for you.
The main tools for Screenwriting software that I would like to be implimented are the basic ones for all screenwriting software. The buttons that format the page. The 6 most common button tools are: Scene setting: (Where the scene is (INT/EXT. Kitchen - Day)), Action: (The action lines that describe whats happening in the scene), Character: (The characters name that is talking. which is in the middle of the page.), Paranthetical: (The way the character is speaking), Dialogue: (What the character is saying.), Transition: (Transitioning from one scene to another. Fade to black, Cut to black ect.) There are other tools in screenwriting software that will be cool to add but these are the main ones.
I know there are many others in the film industry who loves worldbuilding and would love to have this feature for your site so they can still write in the industry standard and have it connect to their worldbuilding. I understand you can't always create every feature everyone suggests and I appreciate your hard work in your website. I believe this feature will also attract a lot more people in the film industry who wants to mix their stories with worldbuilding. Thank you for your consideration.

I am honestly not sure how this works or what it will involve. It's certainly a bit away from the core of the product but I will investigate. This is being accepted as an investigation task not to be actioned.

on 2021-09-27 00:58Honestly, having a scriptwriting tool would be incredibly handy and would really increase WA appeal within the industry. I know that there are others in the industry who want to use WA but don't find it practical for their jobs (*cough* my teachers *cough*). Even my friends and I who are all still studying film (for a vareity of different reasons) would be able to finally keep all our stuff in one place (and can finally abandon Scrivner).
