What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Currently, when attempting to update your current date in a world, not only do you need to click a... let's call it "hidden" menu (in the upper-left of the hamburger/side-menu, clicking the date, then it expands to be found), but you also need to fiddle with 2 individual fields to actually change the date, as well as how to display said date.I propose that the menu/date be integrated into the calendar/timeline/chronicle system in a few ways:
1) A much more simplified interaction of plus (+)/minus (-) for dates, or perhaps a date-picker like you see on sites that request a date field be validated/entered.
2) When updating the current date, have it also update/display on timelines and chronicles (optionally, or toggleable). Currently, the calendar/chronicle interaction simply is not there, and I basically have to update the informaiton in 3 places. When running campaigns where sometimes days to weeks shift, it's not an intuitive experience.
3) There is no clean way to display a calendar in the world without extensive CSS, and even then it does not reflect the current year set (it defaults, for whatever reason, to "year 0" and cannot be forced to reflect the current year). There should be an option to toggle an accessible calendar.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
If timelines/chronicles/calendars are brought in line with each other, their usability increases and allows for less confusion and multi-tasking. As it stands, I do not use the calendar feature, simply because it is incredibly unwieldy. Further, I do update the current date (supported by the initial calendar information I fed the "calendars" area), but it is clunky and more often than not leads to confusion.What are other uses for this feature request?
Obviously any other uses that benefit from having dates and times updated.The Team's Response
