What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
* When testing crosslinked articles from a spscific crosslink or "auto" added to the right panes, you can get to a page/article and enter the detailed edit but not know where it is in the category tree -* What would be helpful is a button at the top ot the detailed edit page that one could either click or right-click that would open the Articles & Categories page, and auto expand the tree to the article in question - so you could see the pear articles around it -
How does this feature request address the current situation?
* Right now you can partially do this with the search bar where it finds introspective strings and provides a list of articles and categories -and provides a view and edit button -* I frequently want to know what articles I have adjacent to an article so this would display the category tree and let me see that -
What are other uses for this feature request?
* This seems like a common feature on similar browser based collaboration system - I am sure user would develop multiple workflows for the same feature -* NB I searched for similar articles and coule not find similar suggestions

on 2021-10-03 07:29Technically, you could click the navigation tab to see what the parent category or parent article are; or see in the linear navigation what articles are linked with the current one, once you are editing the article. However, I get where you are coming from and I would agree that it would be helpful in many cases and for many workflows to have a feature like that, so you can easily access surrounding articles or the exact category you are currently working in. Personally I would prefer to have breadcrumbs when editing an article that show the trail to get to said article. You could then click on the category or parent article in the breadcrumb trail to open said category view. I would absolutely love that.
