What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
There is no combat type when trying to make a profession. The only options that work are military and contracting for what i'm trying to do. I think having combat as a type sounds more satisfying than contracting if one doesn't want to have it a military profession.How does this feature request address the current situation?
Would allow combat professions that don't have to be classified under military, contracting, or arcane.What are other uses for this feature request?

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately we have to decline it, as "combat" isn't a profession, it's an activity. Activities are part of professions, and they might be what defines them, but they are still not the same. What defines what sort of "combat profession" you have is the purpose of the combat the character is performing; as a member of the team said, "the punching has to go somewhere"! This, however, sparked a discussion about types of combat-related professions and we've added "Athlete" (which can cover combat sports).
