What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
For a map, you can tell where the center is, the zoom, and where to start when you view the map. This feature is excellent. For locations, I often have a map over the current area in e.g. the footer, and it would have been gold to be able to have the location the article is about in the center of the map each time, and maybe even zoomed.How does this feature request address the current situation?
If I can send the pinId or the coordinates with the embed-tag the area of the map that is discussed in the article would be shown in the center.What are other uses for this feature request?
I can see more situations where you want to focus on a specific area of the map valid for a specific situation.Follow up

All guys and galls, please save your coins for something else. This is perfectly implemented as it is and I'm just blind. I would remove this if I could, but I don't seem to be able to. There is probably a function for this that I've missed as well :-)

on 2023-12-09 09:06This already is possible! If you go to Edit Map -> Map Settings -> Map Embed Snippet (on the right), you see "Embedding a map focuses on specific coordinates". "If you want to define the location that your map will be focused when loaded you can use the variable X, Y and Zoom as such" map:uuid|500|500|0 with square brackets around it. So if you check the coordinates of the pin, you can copy them into that map embed snippet, and even fill in the initial zoomlevel.
