What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

I am using Roll20 as a VTT. We manage the Characters there, but it would be really nice to Import a Charactersheet into World Anvil. So you could manage the Storytelling and documentation of the Sessions in World Anvil and leave the actual gameplay in the VTT. At the moment you can only import Character Sheets from DnD Beyond. Especially since the OGL leaks we are not sure how DnD Beyond will develop. So my suggest would be to make it possible to Import a Character Sheet from a File.  

How does this feature request address the current situation?

The request would solve the Problem to maintain the Character Sheet data in two Systems. It would help us to get more independant.  

What are other uses for this feature request?

If you can import a Sheet its not that hard to make an Export, other than that i can not think of any other uses.

The Team's Response

We created an importer for D&D Beyond because there was a clear path (D&D Beyond Character sheet to 5e D&D character sheet) because of their API. If you could provide us with a specific file type for a specific RPG system (ex: Pathfinder 1st Edition sheet on "this platform" to Pathfinder 5e D&D character sheet), we can consider it!

    What formats are possible for such an import? txt, PDF, open office documents, MS word would be useful, and a great time saver for my play by post games. I could use character sheets to help plan content without having to open multiple apps or websites and switch back and forth between documents.
