What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
I've been creating a timeline with different eras, but I find it tedious to use the UTD year to match a specific era that I already added an era abbreviation to it.How does this feature request address the current situation?
I would add an option when creating a new historical event with different eras by entering a space for the abbreviations of the eras (instead of writing the whole date plus the date when it occurs in the era, I would simply put the date I want to see in that era and add its abbreviation). That would help not having to calculate so much between the end of the other eras and make it more bearable.What are other uses for this feature request?
The use of this option is especially to help manage the dates of different eras on a timeline.The Team's Response
Thanks for your suggestion! Unfortunately, due to how eras work internally, this has a lot of technical implications attached to it that can't be easily solved at this point (which is exactly why have the UTD system—by making events separate from eras, we solve all of these problems).
