I believe we need automatic image optimalization for their purpose. I could really use a toggle button where I can just say "optimize my images" and for example when I set cover image for an article, it get optimized into dimensions that are needed. If you want to be fancy, just create 3 versions - for different viewports, but I believe that is not necessary. Important is to reduce the sizes of the images ( MB wise )
It will help users to manage disk sizes easier with pretty simple feature to implement.
With all the many tools available to manipulate and optimize images, I don't see the point in adding this functionality to WA. The resource requirements to manipulate images for WA's many subscribers would likely be quite large and add unnecessary complexity and cost to the platform.
If this is added, please make it Toggleable. I have a peeve about things randomly messing with my photos as I've had it bork quality way too often.
1st time user coming from pen and paper world building. I think a simple comfort feat like this makes the overall experience more refined. I have currently refrained from adding more cover photos so that I don't have to stop to deal with it.
