uhhhhh ... my cat literally jumped on my keyboard while I was setting this up and now I can't remove or edit it ...
well ... since I havent heard anything about how to fixe/delete this ... I'm just going to go with it! lol   @Horazath ..... Firstly, the "country" one I can sort of see using "National Territory", but they're technically not the same thing. ..... Secondly, there is no "province" anywhere. It's not an option in either "location" or "settlement" ..... Thirdly: what you're saying is like saying you " you could just hammer that screw into the wood, why do you need a screw driver?" maybe I technically can, but that doesn't actually fix the problem ...... FINALLY: Even if there WAS a "province" under the "location" template, I would still want it under "settlement". The "location" template is used for things like "waterfall" or "lake", it's even alternatively labeled as "geography". A province isn't a geological thing, its a cultural/political construct ... like a village, or a district ... a province IS a settlement, it's a large settlement, but it's a settlement. AND when you look at the prompts and sections of the settlement article, those are the ones that apply to a province, not the ones under location/geography. Settlement is literally the only template that "province" should be under. ... and I would very much like to be able to label the provinces of my world as such.   If it weren't for my cat I would have written all of that in the original thing lol
... total side note ...   I was wondering why "province" wasn't already there! I'm Canadian, so it's the main way we divide the country. I looked it up and learned something! ... Canada, China and a small handful of european countries are the only countries in the northern hemisphere that use provinces!!! ... most of europe (UK, France, Germany, Spain, etc etc etc), the US, and even Australia use something like states, regions, districts, etc!   The most common use of "provinces" is actually in South America and Africa! ... anyway, I don't know why I find that interesting, but I'm a weird nerd and I find random stuff lik this intersting lol ....   OH! AND! I just thought of another reason why "provinces" should be in the settlement dropdown: state, district, and ward are there arlready there and a province is just a variation on what wikipedia is calling a "first level administrative division" lol :) ... so ya ... please add province to the settlement type dropdown ... now that I'm here and feeling a bit greedy, maybe "municipality" and "county" should be added too lol
...   And yet another addition lol ... I was just informed that there is a "Geopolitical, Province" type under the "Organization" drop down ... and that's great! I'm really glad that's there, it makes a sort of sense.   BUT! the reason I didn't know that already was because it never even occured to me to check, because a province is not an organization ... a province can HAVE a government or organization that administers it ... but a province is an area in which people live (i.e. a settlement) ... a province is an organization or government to exact same degree that a town, or colony, or neighbourhood is an organiaztion ... that is to say: they aren't ... they may all HAVE some administrative organization governing or even defining them, but they are still all settlements, just like provinces (and countries, but I'll pick my battles).

The Team's Response

Hello there, we have discussed this within our weekly full-team meeting and we came to the conclusion we will not be making this change.   The cases of province/country is already handled by the Organization template and adding something like that will further muddle the waters and the spirit of the Settlement template. y The "National Territory" already present can handle something larger scale than a city if you still want to use this template to describe your countries.
