Retroactively assign all articles to a default Subscriber Group

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently, if you create a new Subscriber Group and set it as "default", the Group will be automatically added to all *NEW* private Articles. If you realize WAY TO LATE that you should probably have a group that allows people to see every published article, that can mean hours of clicking to retroactively assign that group to every single article you have created.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

By allowing the default-groups to automatically assign to all private articles that already exist, it could save many hours of work.

What are other uses for this feature request?

None that I can think of, but it could have many uses for i.e. GMs that finish a campaign and want to show their players everything, or something in that direction.   If this isn't possible, that's obviously fine, WA is already amazing, but this could really save a lot of work.

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! We're declining this due to technical reasons, as mass-changing articles can potentially cause issues (especially in large worlds).

Having just been bitten by this, this would be a lovely feature to have. As it stands, managing subscriber groups for private worlds is seriously making me reconsider using World Anvil.

Cautiously, this could perhaps be a radio button option. I speak only for myself, but I hesitate to default to always to any action with retroactive effects across a world. There could be too many unforeseen consequences. Your specific use-case makes sense, and I support this as an option.
