Source Material

Much of our soure material is closely linked with High King Morgrain since his was the forge that nearly all of our source material stems from.

One of the most important documents has been from  translations of what seems to have been a scribes notebook that was sealed in the building we found in the Grandure Archeological Dig.

There were some other documents as well. A detailed tracking of troop movements at the time though the names of locations have changed much between then and now.

All of the story of King Morgrain is extrapoltated from the scribes notebook mixed with the long histories of his story that has been carried down the malenia.

The First Forgemaster

High King Morgrain was the First King of the Grandure Republic of Dwarves, born as a the son to a Mine Lord he desired more and set out to unite his people. As a Grandure Dwarf at the time war with the Elder Beholders of the Deep was a staple of their harsh lives. As a youth he spent much time on the battlefields of the deep underdark clashing against the Beholderkin forces and the summoned Demons of these Ancient Beings.

Through years of negotiations and treaties and a decade of brutal wars High King Morgrain brought the dwarven people together and forged The Grandure Kingdom. Thus founding the Senate of Lords where the various Lords of Mines across the Gradure Peaks could help work out their disputes as well as forge new bodies of law for intermine relations and trade.

High King Morgrain took the throne as the General of the Military and Enforcer of the Senate Law. He spent decades defending his people from the advances of the Elder Beholders of the Deep. Still the harder he tried to exterminate the monsters the more vicious and brutal they became. Beholderkin began collapsing mines that were in work. Casuing massive cave-ins throughout poppulated areas of the Kingdoms and stretching the High Kings forces thin with hit and run tactics.

The King of the Dwarves he sought to end the deaths of his people to the Beholders of the Deep and the Demons that raided their homes from the deeper places of the Earth.

"What is a Dwarf if he cannot dig to the bowels of the earth?" He is quoted to have ask his advisors, to which one replied, "A living Dwarf". Seeking the Power needed to destroy his enemies of the Deep, High King Morgrain courted favor with Gond, The God of the craft.

For years he searched for signs of Gond scouring the ancient Kingdoms of Alms Furth, with little success. Until on a mission to forge peaceful relations with a tribe of Dwarves living on an island mountain in the sea. He met this lost tribe of Dwarves and found that they worshiped Gond, it was common for the Dwarves of this tribe to request Boons from the God and their peoples skill in fine detailed engineering and craft was beyond any he had ever seen. They were expert craftsmen and the High King knew that learning the ways of these fine Dwarves was the only way to learn the secrets he desired.

The King spent decades learning the Craft of the Forge, until one day the tree that was his labor bore ripe fruit.

In the High Kings own words:

"In a dream he came to me, an Towering Ancient Dwarf hammering away at his Anvil. The sparks from the blade he struck turned to gears and clockwork mechanisms with each resounding clash of his mighty hammer on metal. He eyed me saying, 'What is it you wish of me mortal?' I replied 'I wish to craft a great weapon to lay waste to the beasts that ravage my people.' He stood towering over me, considering for a time. 'Thy will be done Smithling.' When I awoke the patterns of my first creation spilled out of me, I scribbled the pattern on the wall of my rooms before it faded from my mind, then I set to work."

The King began building weapons of long lost power. The first he made was a Sword of Flame and thus he rightly dubbed the name of his Order. The second spark of brilliance, a gift from Gond, were plans for a massive forge.

It was made with...
