Receive is a Talent unlocked through the Disciplined Psionics Codex. Receive is used for psionically taking things into yourself. You can use this talent to read another’s thoughts or emotions, to harmlessly dissipate a blaster shot, or to heighten your senses. Particular uses of Receive require unlocking additional Xtras from the Disciplined Psionics Codex known as Psionic Disciplines.

Special:

Receive is only used for psionic actions (Refer to Disciplined Psionics Codex for details).
Receive must have at least one Psionic Discipline associated to it, including any general psionic disciplines.
If you don’t have a rank of at least Average (+1) in Receive, you don’t have the talent and can’t use it.

Overcome: Need to figure out what the guard’s orders are? Read his mind! Need to walk through a freezing cold plain? Absorb and dissipate the cold!

Create an Advantage: Did the diplomat think about some SENSITIVE SECRET while you were scanning her thoughts? Maybe your LIFE SENSE alerted you to a nearby life-form. Targets can attempt to oppose using either their Will skill or Deflect talent, as appropriate.

Defend: When you absorb and dissipate the cold, you’re defending. When you catch and disperse the force of a bullet, that’s also a defense. When you scan the thoughts of someone trying to deceive you with lies, that’s defense. Targets can attempt to oppose using either their Will skill or Deflect talent, as appropriate.
