Deflect is a Talent unlocked through the Disciplined Psionics Codex. Deflect is used for psionic stealth and obfuscation as well as defense. You can use it to telekinetically block a plasma blast just as easily as you can use it to reflect and bend the light around you, hiding you from sight. Particular uses of Deflect require unlocking additional Xtras from the Disciplined Psionics Codex known as Psionic Disciplines.

Special:

Deflect is only used for psionic actions (Refer to Disciplined Psionics Codex for details).
Deflect must have at least one Psionic Discipline associated to it, including any general psionic disciplines.
If you don’t have a rank of at least Average (+1) in Deflect, you don’t have the talent and can’t use it.

Overcome: You might need to Deflect the rain to keep dry, or you might need to Deflect someone’s attention from you.

Create an Advantage: When you create a CLOAKING FIELD, you’re using Deflect to bend the light. When you impose that the FLAMES DON’T TOUCH YOU, that’s also a use of Deflect.

Attack: Deflect isn’t usually used for attack, though it’s not outside the realm of possibility. Redirecting the path of an incoming laser towards a new target is a potential use of Deflect.

Defend: It’s easy to use Deflect for defense. Want to shield your mind from a telepathic invasion? Stop a bullet in its tracks? Both use Deflect.
