Elf

The longest lived species on the Mainland, wisdom does not come with it. Their natural curiosity in trying to understand everything around them find them in trouble very quickly. It is not unusual to find one spending extended periods of pondering mysteries, only to be distracted by another before their first one was answered. This has lead to the belief they have short attention spans, when in reality elves realize they have time to spare in the grand scheme of things. Hailing from the tops of the Clouded Spires they have studied the stars for as long as any of them can possibly remember. Have mapped them extensively, carving massive star charts over the peaks of the stone spires they live in. After countless years looking up, some of their tribes decided to look down for once. Peering into the swirling cloudy abyss below them.   The elves who continued to stare at the stars, the Skigin, hardly noticed when their kin decided to descend en masse down the wind worn peaks. Naming themselves the Saginor, or cloud divers, they descended and soon found a new expansive ground to explore. Covered in coarse loose sand, they explored the Twisting Desert below. Quickly finding and recognizing the safe routes through the endless sandstorm of the desert.   When the Saginor eventually found their way out of the desert and into the fields of the Viridi Basin they were in utter awe of the wide world out before them and began to explore. Being so strange looking, the first humans who met them first thought they were monsters from the Beastia Forest and attacked them. Quite a few people on both sides died before the a group of adventurers settled things. Some tribes of Saginor, embittered of the first hostilities of the Kingdom, retreated back to the Twisting Desert. But many continued out into the world and ending up as natural guides to the places they explored. Some of these Saginor even acted as guides back to their original home in the Clouded Spires, introducing the world to their Skigin relatives.
