Sandstone Elfiry

in many ways they are similar to their stone elfiry cousins, yet radically different in the ways they do not, for example both stone and sandstone share a love of embellishing their own origin story and have having many different versions of said origin, however while the stone elfiry use it for propaganda, the sandstone however conjure up different stories to express their creativity nature, adding little lessons or poems or even songs to these tales to help it keep its memory, in the young and old, while this does cause some quite severe contradictions when several stories are placed together a few facts are shared through any poem and story:   "From wence we came, naught but dictation and law, No song, no wind, no sand to sail"   "From Below we came from above we ran, no more bowing to those who bowed to none"   "From our great journey, we found Zeldicrass, vibrant and green, with kin of the tree"   "From this great land, we split, some wish to head to the false legend of Sharllion, while we remain"   "From harsh darkness to the bright sky, we kept to our sands, while we saw the vibrant land die"   "From this great sorrow, with great remorse, we saw our wood kin flee, and thus Zeldicrass became ours"   These sentences are a common occurrence in stories and poems for the Sandstone hinting these are the small fragments of truth to their origin yet nothing is certain, though now they claim zeldicrass as their own, sailing through the deserts and exploring long forgotten ruins and places of both danger and magic in order to inspire their next great tapestry of stone or ballad, as that is what most important for them.   in many myths these "wood elfiry" that inhabited zeldicrass before the sandstone came are never identified however the sandstone and this "wood elfiry tribe" were apparently very close as to this day sandstone erect great works of art for their forgotten kin, this extent even goes as far as somewhat effecting their way of governing themselves (see The Heilmars section) and their way of life, as apparently when the sandstone first came to zeldicrass they had no idea of what songs or ballads were, until these elfiry showed them how and the sandstone fell in love with it, finding all new ways to express themselves.   The Sandstone history is filled with exaggeration and story telling, though in the sandstone tales three major events stand out, the Kurzick invasion or attempt at a invasion, The splitting of the Heilmars and the Tower of Black Iron, In summary the Kurzick invasion involved shortly after the stone and Kurzick officially met and the Kurzick empire wished to set a outpost up to keep an eye on the stone elfiry, believing the sandstone to be stone elfiry attacked, only to be trampled quite brutally, when the stone elfiry tried to do the same, they were also soundly beaten back ((see The bloody sands war article)) The splitting of the Heilmars was a event where many of the tribes decided to explore the lands beyond Zeldicrass and headed to south to find new deserts lands to call their own as well as find their wood elfiry kin., ((see Rath'ni'gari Migration article)) this eventually leading the sandstone who left to find the desert continent of Cul'veri at least that is whats its called in the sandstone tongue* the last major event was when the nearby Uldren tried to enter the Iron tower that had say in zeldricrass since the dawn of the Tilgratzi this proved to be a great error for all involved as the tower spewed both monstrosities and The Rot Though the sandstone and the Ungol were able to seal it away, no one dares go near the tower and the Uldren are seen by the sandstone as dangerous fools.   In the current time era the Sandstone Khalkh's are in a period of discovery and new ideas, new governance, new magic and new dangers, they are trying to set themselves as a unified coalition yet their individualism and different outlooks and perspectives are constantly conflicting with these attempts, as well as spies from nearby lands ((such as the Kurzick Culrantes or Stone House Coulandi)trying to stop this coalition from forming, for if the sandstone did ever unite, it would be a major hurdle for all other players also trying to start up, cause unlike the Akrett, Kurzick and Stone elfiry, the Sandstone don't care what race or people you came from, its the ingenuity, drive and creativity are that matters, such a ideal in a world like Aurelia could make them a powerful force if the coalition were ever cemented.     The Art of heart and hand: The Sandstone all over have a tradition that is taught at a extremely young age, this being to learn a way of fighting and a way of peace, so that no matter the state of the Khalkh the sandstone will always be of use, an example is a sandstone becoming a master of the bow as their way of fighting and Poems for their way of peace, although hunting would be considered as peaceful for some species for the sandstone this is still a act of fighting given its taking a life without returning anything to the world thus harming the world and the sandstone place in it, thus the way of peace would tend to include a non-violent method.   Another thing to note, that the way of fighting and way of peace is not stringent to just martial skills, magic for those who can wield it effectively is encouraged as well, with some sandstone painting the land itself with magic as their way of peace, while using fire magic in combat.     Endless sands, endless lives: Another two aspects of the Sandstone elfiry which is unique to them, "to the embitterment of the stone elfiry, is that they can "theoretically" live forever, as unlike the stone elfiry who die immediately upon hitting 300 years the sandstone "stone skin" cracks revealing the soft skin underneath this continues indefinitely with the sandstone becoming weaker and weaker but never dying, it is truly unknown how long a sandstone can live for, with the record being the famous traveller Bul'kunfri who is 1000 years old, the rate of weakness seems to be tied with the sandstone creativity, the more creative and how many new experiences they have.   The second aspect the sandstone have that makes them different than their stone elfiry kin, is that they can appear different from one another, while stone elfiry are forced to all look the same from birth to death, the sandstone somehow managed to break free of this curse (or blessing) some time in their history, yet the sandstone either are unaware how this occurred, or the eldest among them are playing ignorant.   The Heilmars: The "leaders" of the sandstone Khalkh are known as the Heilmars, each Khalkh have thier own way of choosing a Heilmar, but they are the absolute authority on everything and anything, all are below the Heilmar, that is the law, anyone who defies their words are cast out, this is what occurred early in the sandstone elfiry history, when Heilmars and Khalkh's disagreed and a great rift formed between them, with almost half of the sandstone population leaving zeldicrass in search of their wood elfiry kin who they so desperately missed, Eventually settling in the southern continent, ever since the Heilmars of Zeldicrass have tried many differnt ways of making sure their Khalkhs never would think of betraying their masters ever again, some methods progressive and empathetic to the people ideas, some more....totalitarian.   Zeldicrass and Culveri: While some sandstone do wander beyond thier own lands to explore, there are realistically only found two places in the world where the sandstone elfiry could hail from in large numbers, that being Zeldicrass and Culveri there is a rather jarring difference for the two groups, while for the most part they live the same way, The Culveri Sandstone are extremely religious to the Gods of the outer plains, shunning the "false gods" of the ascended.   Meanwhile the Zeldicrass are a lot more open minded when it comes to religious practise as the imagery and art that could inspired from the savage tells of the Rabid wolf (See the god of rage article) or the Heroism of Juhenra as long as it doesn't harm the Khalkh

The Sandstone elfiry appear identical to their stone cousins in most aspects however, while they have similar statue, they do have yellow colouring to the stone skin and while it cracks and breaks much easier showing the softer sandy skin beneath, they do not sure the curse of all looking alike like their stone skin which means, they can be shorter or taller, as well as have different body types, for most other parts they resemble the stone elfiry.   The Sandstone have the iris in reverse, where they have a white iris and the eye can be of different colours typically are bright vibrant colours, in addition to this the sandstone can if they choose to, grow hair, though this typically comes out in uneven patches on their heads, so they shave it, while both men and women can grow facial hair perfectly fine, though it has a almost plaster like feel to it when touched.
