The First Year Novice (Abjurer) is a 5th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is intelligence (spell save DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks 1d20+6 ). It has 4 first-level spell slots, 3 second-level slots, and 2-third-level slots.   Cantrips (at will): blade ward, resistance 1st Level (4 slots):absorb elements, mage armor, sanctuary, shield, alarm 2nd Level (3 slots): aid 3rd Level (2 slots): counterspell, dispel magic


Arcane Ward. The abjurer can weave magic around itself for protection. When it casts an abjuration spell of 1st level or higher, it can simultaneously use a strand of the spell's magic to create a magical ward on itself that lasts until the abjurer finishes a long rest. The ward has 13 hit points (2xWizard Level - 5 + Intelligence Modifier). Whenever the abjurer takes damage, the ward takes the damage instead. If this damage reduces the ward to 0 hit points, the abjurer takes any remaining damage. While the ward had 0 hit points, it can't absorb damage, but its magic remains. Whenever the abjurer casts a spell of 1st level or higher, the ward regains a number of hit points equal to twice the level of the spell. Once the ward is created, it cannot be created again until after a long rest.
