Path of the Brawler

Your fighting style focuses on rough-and-tumble brawling using whatever weapons happen to be at hand.

Tavern Brawler

When you choose this primal path at 3rd level, you gain the following benefits:
  • You become proficient with improvised weapons.
  • You can roll a d6 in place of the normal damage of your unarmed strike or improvised weapons. This increases to a d8 when you reach 5th level, a d10 when you reach 11th level, and a d12 when you reach 17th level.
  • When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or improvised weapon on your turn, you can use a bonus action to attempt to grapple that creature.

Empowered Strikes

Starting at 6th level, your unarmed strikes count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Pummel

Starting at 10th level, you can use your bonus action to make an unarmed strike against a creature you have grappled. If you succeed on your bonus action grapple granted by your Tavern Brawler feature, you can make an unarmed strike against the creature you just grappled as part of that same bonus action.

Retaliation

Starting at 14th level, when a creature within your reach attacks you while you are raging, regardless of whether that attack hit or missed, you can use your reaction to either make one attack against that creature with an unarmed strike or improvised weapon or attempt to grapple or shove that creature.
