He occassionally insists on buffing or debuffing others with these spells which make pretty visual effects for a moment but otherwise have no effect: Bless, Detect Magic, Read Magic, Dispel Magic, Protection from Magic, Know Alignment, Invisible Stalker, Mordenkainan's Disjunction, Magic Jar, Shillelagh, Augury.

Non-Split "Spells":


(The following "spells" must stay connected to the caster. They are effectively part of the caster's body for trick shot purposes.)
Mordenkainen’s Sword (7AP Claws) The sword is attached to the casters hand by a leathery whip and appears to defy gravity.
Sword of Omens (7AP Claws or 7AP Telescopic Vision, but not both at the same time)
Feather Fall (7AP Gliding) Smoke forms a parachute.
Astral Projection (7AP Dispersal) Caster may shout "Phase Out!" and pull out a white handkerchief.
Invisibility (0AP Invisibility) Sight only
Medusa's Mage Hand (2AP Stretch) A snake head stretches from the caster's hand to manipulate distant objects.
Knock (2 Stretch, 7Dispersal) Medusa's Mage Hand passes through the gap under a door to open it from the other side.
Leomund's Tiny Hut / Mage Armor / Magic Shield (7Bod, 2 Stretch) Swirling transluscent colored smoke covers the caster or can be extended to a bubble around the caster, allowing allies and inanimate objects (not enemy missiles) to enter.

"Split Spells":


(The following powers Conjure a living thing that moves independently of the caster. Mordenkainan can only have one such effect active at a time. When the "spell" decides to expire, it turns into smoke and floats quickly to rejoin the caster as an automatic action.)
Summon Monster - Raven (7Bod, 3Str, 10Dex, 3IQ, 7AP Flight) Named Tut. It is of human intelligence but only speaks words that it has heard recently.
Summon Monster - Serpent (7Bod, 7Str, 10Dex, 7AP Poison Touch, 2 Stretching) Can grapple and bite.
Summon Monster - Cacodemon (7Bod, 7Str, 10Dex) An odd looking chimpanzee which gibbers and shouts while jumping and attacking.
Summon Mordenkainen’s Faithful Hound (7Bod, 4Str, 10Dex, 3Int 7 Dispersal, 0AP Invisiblity) A very intelligent Basset Hound named Droopy, and a very Good Boy!, able to turn invisible and disperse at will.
Invisible Stalker (Droopy but invisible and aggressive)
Mirror Image of Ikonn (1 Split) Caster splits into two mirror-image duplicates with all powers and attributes 1AP less than the original. Both can only use "Non-Split Spells" until they reunite.
Audible Glamor (7AP Dispersal, 7Bod) Faint smoke fills an area with many ghostly mouths speaking or making sounds.
Wall of Force (7Bod, 7Str, 7AP Self Manipulate / Stretching Full Defense Maneuver= +3 RV, 3AP Volume) It may be moved and shaped by the caster and made transparent or opaque.
Web (like Wall of Force plus optional 7AP Glue)
Ali Baba's / Aladdin's Rope (2AP Stretching, 7Bod 7Str, 7AP Climb) Carries the caster and/or others.
Wizard Eye / Fly on the Wall (7Bod, 10Dex, 7 Flight) Spys and reports back
Otto's Irresistible Dance (7Bod, 7Str, 10Dex) A cloud of mist and ghostly long-fingered hands grapple a target.
Hold Person (7Bod, 7Str, 10Dex) Crimson Bands grapple a target.
Bigby's hand (7Str, 7Bod, 10Dex) It can attack or block as a 5-foot tall Clenched Fist, Forceful Hand, Grasping hand, or Interposing Hand. It can scamper like Thing from the Addams Family.
Grease Spell (7AP Molecular Chameleon, 2AP Stretching, 7Bod) The grease patch is sentient and can slither as needed.
Tenser's Floating Disk (7Str, 10Dex, 7Bod, 2 Stretch, 0 Invisiblity) This Magic disk "floats" on a column of mist.
Expeliarmus / Magic Missile (7Str, 10Dex, 7Bod) A garden gnome statuette dressed like the caster leaps at the target each combat round.
Magic Mouth (7Bod, 3Int, 0 Invisiblity) The conjured mouth will give a message when it meets the intended target, but it has a short attention span, so it may try to go find the target after it gets bored from waiting.
Mount / Phantom Steed (3Str, 10Dex, 7Bod, 7AP Jump) A colorful horse with saddle appears to carry a rider.
Cloudkill (10Dex, 7Bod, 7Poison Touch, 2 Stretch) Multi-attack.
Blade Barrier (10Dex, 7Bod, 7Claws, 2 Stretch) Multi-attack.
Phantasmal Force / Hallucinatory Terrain (7Bod, 2 Stretch, 7 Self Manipulate 3 Chameleon, 7 Molecular Chameleon) Conjure ordinary objects and disguises.

Weaknesses: M's spells noticeably lack Light, Fire, Electricity, Cold, and Mind Affecting effects. He is purely a Conjurer, excepting a few defensive spells (Astral Projection, Feather Fall, Invisiblity, etc.)
When one of M's conjurations takes damage, it retains that damage in the next conjurations until it eventually merges back into the caster, who then retains the damage until healed normally.

Dark Secret (-25HP) - SPOILER - FOR GM EYES ONLY - Max Merlin's and Mordenkainan's career as a Psychic Investigator and well-meaning vigilante would be ended once and for all if it were ever revealed that he is actually none other than Bad Actor!, (arch-nemesis of Master Thespian), a supervillain ingratiating himself into the Mayor's office to eventually enact his master plan of destroying all trust in authority figures and driving the city toward anarchy.
