Luminis is a dystopian city that thrives on the energy procured by harvesting its peoples hearts and thus emotions. In this metropolis emotions are an energy resource. Within the crystalline hearts, the inhabitants carry power within their emotions, a power harvested to sustain the city's shimmering facade. In Lustra the Elite thrive in the radiant upper tiers of the city, basking in artificial sunlight fueled by the suffering of the masses that dwell in the crumbling depths of the Veil District where jagged streets twist unpredictably and faint, dying glimmers of stolen light barely hold back the encroaching shadows. Luminis is a world of contrasts: dazzling light and suffocating darkness, fragile humanity and unyielding control. It asks what happens when emotions are stripped of their humanity, turned into fuel for a system that devours its people. And it asks whether a spark of resistance can illuminate even the deepest shadows—or whether it, too, will be consumed. Welcome to Luminis. Your heart keeps the lights on.
