Magic in Zurn - Core Rules

Magic generally requires words (or sounds, in the case of snapping your fingers to create fire as a fire mage) to harness the magical elements around you to create a physical effect (spells, runes, enchantments, wards, and glyphs). These words may be spoken (the most common form, and typically the way that spells are cast) or written (in the case of wards, enchantments, runes, and glyphs).

Manifestation

The world is comprised of three realms: the natural realm, the magical realm, and the supernatural realm. "Using magic" simply means harnessing the particles of the magical realm in such a way that they create an effect in the natural realm. It does not become natural (so a magical fire, for example, might burn you if you touch it or it might not), but it has an effect in the natural realm.
