Gremlin

Gremlins stand around 6-12" tall (though most do not get over 10" tall), and are among the largest of the sprites. While perhaps not as coordinated as the other sprite races, gremlins love causing trouble with technology among the Big Folk and sprites alike.   Gremlins are reclusive creatures, often living in the walls of the houses of the Big Folk, as they love caves, mud, and stone. Gremlins are relatively large among the sprites, being almost a foot tall and are only outmatched in size by owls.   Gremlins are not extremely coordinated beings, but they are crafty and large, making them formidable in a fight and capable in peace. What the trolls are to the realms of the Big Folk, the gremlins are to the sprites, though their craftiness has not stretched to the knowledge of any of the hidden lores of magic. Still, beware of gremlins: when plotting comes, they rarely fail.

Basic Information

Anatomy

More goblin-shaped than human-shaped, with thick fur, longer arms, and shorter legs. They typically have an under-bite, and can have long fangs on the upper or lower jaw depending on the clan.

Genetics and Reproduction

Gestation period for gremlins is 3 months. Gremlins reproduce very quickly, and come of age relatively quickly (reaching adulthood around the age of 12).

Ecology and Habitats

Gremlins love almost any environment as long as it allows for burrowing and tunnel building (so they tend to live further away from lakes and rivers, fearing cave-ins and sediment washing away their tunnels). They especially love proximity to Big Folk settlements, where they can scavenge resources and mess with technology as desired.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Gremlins are very omnivorous, known to eat basically anything other than other gremlins (including rocks, sticks, etc.).

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Gremlins see just as well above ground as underground, and rely on their sense of touch more so than other races (which they use to track footfalls in tunnels and caves).
