*Element* Kissed

The Great Lady granted humans some small control over the seven elements. Each person is born with a Goddess Lock, a single lock of coloured hair that identifies their element. Pink for Light, dark blues for Darkness, reds and oranges for Fire, light blues for Water, green for Wind, browns and yellows for Earth, and purple for Energy. The shade and tone of the colour implies strength or "flavour" of power. For example, a dark red Fire lock implies a more violent temper than a bright orange one. A pale blue Water lock implies icier powers than a richer shade. Most people are "Touched" meaning they have minimal influence over their element, and it is tied strongly to their emotions. Some people are "Kissed" meaning they have more influence over their element, and they can exert a direct and deliberate control over their gift. All members of the Alaran Line of Kings are Kissed. Children are tested often from three - eight years of age and as soon as one is identified as being Kissed they are given additional training.

Effect

Direct and deliberate control over a single element. The strength of these abilities vary between people but it's generally not typhoon generating or mountain toppling in strength.

Side/Secondary Effects

Some people experience headaches if they overreach their abilities or use them too much. It also uses a significant amount of physical energy so it leaves the person tired, even exhausted. During the escape from the Flying Kingdom Mery ties herself to the saddle before using her Fire gift. When it burns out, she blacks out.
