Zodiac Braves

Long ago, before the mountains had ceased their wandering and struck their roots into the earth, the Lucavi held dominion over the world. Twelve heroes there were, who came forward to challenge these Lucavi. In a long and bitter struggle, they succeeded in driving the Lucavi to the spirit world, and Ivalice again knew peace. The Twelve each bore an auracite crystal emblazoned with a house of the night sky. And so in time, they became known as the Zodiac Braves. Ever after, when discord and strife paid visit to the halls of men, they would return to save us once more...     ---       It is the year 395 Old Valendian, and Ivalice is undergoing a time of unrest.   The Galtean Alliance has come to an end, and Ivalice faces a promising but uncertain future. In the West, war has been raging amidst the seven nations of Western Ordalia for centuries, but for the first time in a generation the possibility of a tentative peace is in sight. In the East, an influx of Mist drives refugees north into Valendia, where political instability is already stoking the fires of rebellion.   Though the Kiltean and Ydoran churches work toward peace in their respective territories, their efforts are threatened not only by the volatility of Ivalician politics, but by the mysterious Cult of the Mist. Where they go, rumour tells of strange magick stones, tipping the scales of power one way or another.   The story of those who came to wield the Auracite, the Zodiac Braves, would become legend...
