Algorist

The highest ranked Chyçurish programmers working on the development of the Codex are termed 'Algorists'. In Mba Jukfi, there are only three citizens that bear the title Algorist. The Algorist hierarchy is a prime example of Chyçurish naming convention, the higher ranked someone gets the simpler the title they bear. To demonstrate, those directly below Algorists are known as Algorithm Editors, those below them Executive Assistants to the Algorithm, those below that again Codex Perpetuationists. The administration sector of Mba Jukfi are responsible for the naming conventions and systems of Chyçurish society.

Appointment

Algorists are appointed by applying and filling out the forms appropriately, having their application assessed by the full membership of the Council as well as the full membership of the Commission membership, and being approved by a double supermajority of 78% or more of both Council and Commission.

Responsibilities

Algorists are first and foremost the designers and authors of the system behind the Codex. They are not necessarily the maintainers. Small parts of broken code or errors in the processing system are the responsibility of those ranked below them, although often Algorists have been known to be rather particular about their work and often take on tasks that aren't strictly theirs to answer to.   In recent times, the newest Algorist has been tasked with designing an addition to the Codex' program that allows for the inclusion of other races into the Compatibility ranking of previously Chyçurish-only citizens of Tantsuy. While Mba Jukfi is the largest city, and the capital of Chyçurish society. There are other, smaller, Chyçurish cities scattered across Tantsuy. All Chyçurish regardless of their location are included in the Codex. Now, all Keraza, Htckik, Aeissyy and Chy individuals on Tantsuy have also been incorporated into the Codex thanks to the addition of new code written by Mba Jukfi's newest Algorist.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Algorists can feasibly have access to any equipment they can justify to the Commission as being essential to their work. While paperwork underpins all functions of the Chyçurish, Algorists have a power above others, in that they maintain the Codex which is a foundational piece of their society and feeds most other sectors of Chyçurish functions.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

When one is considered no longer useful by others, their colleagues, or the public, an Algorist is informed to leave their position if they have not done so already.

Notable Holders

Ngajmi - The most recent holder of the Algorist position, Ngajmi didn't always know he would become such. He has an obsession with the idea of Compatibility. He would have been a suitable matchmaker, if his ability to parse and envision code hadn't developed so admirably. Unlike his fellow Algorists, he doesn't merely want the Codex to fulfill its duty for the Chyçurish, he wants to push the Codex to the very limits. Ideally, Ngajmi would develop a Codex for the entire universe. Finding everyone's ideal and perfect partners, based on their genetic compatibility. He will settle, for now, for the population of Tanstuy. While Ngajmi hasn't found Compatibility with another (his highest ranking is 56% with a female Chyçurish, closely followed by the recent addition of a Keraza male at 52%) he is in an off-again on-again relationship with a Chy that serves in the research centre of the Codex.
Source of Authority
Intelligence and speciality - Chyçurish value those who are experts in their craft, one only needs to be good at their job to gain authority amongst others.
Length of Term
Algorists are only limited by their ability to continue to function to a high standard.
