Race: Legomi

Basic Information

Anatomy

Legomi are tough, squat and happy. They are the combination of Vegetable and Sectoid DNA, though they exhibit none of the Sectoids stuck-up philosophy. They are laid back but hard workers, thriving well in the harsh nightless atmosphere of Zerth life. They are naturally curious and can often be found hovering around other creatures, wanting to understand them better. They have a particular affinity for Human culture, as it is much more diverse than any other on Zerth.   There is no distinction between male and female Legomi, though they may often act as though there is. Being completely sexless and having no reproductive organs, they procreate by shedding bits of their bodies in the dirt and walking away. A Legomi's height ranges anywhere from 3-15 feet tall, though the average height is about 4 and a half feet. They resemble all kinds of plant and vegetable species; some have long leaves sprouting from their heads and shoulders, while others have multiple eyes in strange places. Some have no eyes at all. They are tough and weathered with giant appetites. It is not uncommon to spot a Legomi chewing on a tin can, or a bit of a rubber tire.   A Legomi's physiology is entirely different from the other creatures on Zerth as they have no discernible internal organs. They have no need to breathe and can survive underwater for as long as they desire. Many Legomi have taken to doing this out of a desire for seclusion. It is rumored that entire colonies of Legomi may live off the coast lines of Zerth in underwater villages.   Legomi are not timid by any means. They are often seen as nosy and bothersome and can quickly end a personal conversation by asking too many questions. They are innately in awe of everything around them, and so they are naturally very easy to please. Legomi delight in all kinds of entertainment, even to the detriment of others around them. They may watch a film 100 times and never get tired of it. When faced with danger, the Legomi's first reaction is wonder and excitement. For this reason, Legomi are not always popular travel companions as they tend to draw unwanted attention and are never quite adept at keeping their mouths shut. Though they have proven to be excellent laborers, having their own style and beauty in crafting. Being so easily distracted, the Legomi make excellent slaves, as they are naturally inclined to follow meaningless orders – taking pride in the notion that they are being productive.   In short, the Legomi culture died with their enslavement under the Aerie Empire. They have no real home and do not particularly care too much about banding together. Some small settlements of Legomi exist near coastlines, though it is only out of necessity that they group up in this way. Legomi prefer the company of others and will sometimes become jealous of any attention one Legomi is getting over themselves. There are two major Legomi run settlements on Zerth, both of which required the efforts of other creatures to keep them inspired and focused. The first is Rabbit City on the southern most tip of the Meapos Peninsula. Here, the Legomi share influence over the town alongside the Morouni, who are more than willing to share their homes with such diligent workers – though often at the cost of their dignity. The other being Ender, deep in the recesses of the Gorgeo Gorge. Here, they share their homes and businesses with the Sectoids. Though generally hateful and bigoted towards Legomi, the Sectoids of Ender are almost entirely ex-patriots of the Aerie Empire, and thus frown on the judgmental and xenophobic nature of their heritage.   The lifespan of a Legomi seems to be as long as he or she can keep going. Many of the first Legomi created are still living healthy, happy lives. Due to the fact that no one has ever really seen a Legomi die of old age, it is assumed that it just doesn’t happen. As long as they keep nourished and avoid too many bullets, they will continue to live long, healthy lives.
