Anatomy

Humans are an anomaly on Zerth. No one quite understands where they came from, including the humans themselves. If asked, another race might respond with “They just showed up.” Humans will typically answer in the same fashion. Though their existence on Zerth is shrouded in mystery, Humans seem to share a common thread of disassociation. They have trouble focusing and are prone to violent outbursts or fits of despair. It has been speculated that the Humans have been sent to Zerth to be punished for their misgivings on their home planet, while others say that they have come to complete a spiritual journey. The only real point everyone can agree upon is that Humans are definitely not at home on Zerth.
Human life on Zerth is a mish-mosh of groupings out of necessity. The highly diverse and self serving nature of Humans leads them in so many directions that and organized society is barely visible, if existent at all. Most Humans adapt quickly to the Zertian lifestyle, finding it to be quite easy to find common ground with their Zertian brothers, regardless of the obvious differences. Fear of isolation tends to be enough motivation to play well with others, though many prefer to live their lives in solitude, performing odd jobs for the other creatures. Some overcome their fear and set out exploring or take to farming, or even attempt to bring human culture to the other inhabitants of Zerth. Banking alone has made many humans filthy rich on Zerth; a practice that quickly drew the attention of the Sectoids. Sectoids have a love/hate relationship with the Humans. They are baffled at the Humans accepting nature, yet totally drawn to their ability to overcome nearly every obstacle. The efforts of Human and Sectoid together have brought about an incredibly advanced settlement on the island of Hollice, south of the Meapos Peninsula. There is only one Human dominated settlement on Zerth. The city of Agora rests on the most southern tip of the eastern coast, high up in the cliffs overlooking the ocean. There, the Humans have found a home that most resembles Earth.
