Forms of flow

There seem to be 5 different kinds of flow, each recognized by their distinct color:

• Cobalt flow
• Crimson flow
• Emerald flow
• Obsidian flow
• Light flow

All the forms are found throughout the world of Zemenia except Light flow. It is believed that only a master of all flows can create and use Light flow. The last creatures to have used Light flow are the Gods themselves.

Appearance

For ages, flow didn't freely exist in the world. The energy was unknown to all except a very select group of humans, the Gods. Light flow was their source of power and they used it for everything. Even gods don't live forever, so at the death of the Gods their immense reserves of Light flow were scattered throughout the world. This event, called The Distribution, was so disrupting that the Light flow was dissolved in it's fundamentel state. It dissolved into the four primal flows (Cobalt, Crimson, Emerald, Obsidian).

Usage

The usage of flow is very simple and accessible for anyone. One simply walks inside the cloud of flow to use it's energy. Flow cannot be absorbed, inhaled or otherwise contained in the human body. One can transport flow by using flow capsules, glass containers which can store all kinds of gasses and liquids. The flow capsules are useful for small amounts of flow, but scholars throughout Zemenia are frantically searching for a way to store a large amount of flow.

Research

It has only been 25 years since The Distribution so not a lot of advancements have been made. Although everyone is aware of the existence of flow by now, most rulers want nothing to do with it and fear the chaos it may bring. Only one official organisation, The Institute of the Arcane, has been researching flow. Of course there are many individuals and small groups brave enough to be at the forefront of the road of discovery. Unfortunately due to the unpredictable nature of flow, many of these pioneers lose their lives in failed experiments.

Localization

Flow is seen a a dense mist scattered throughout the world. Ranging from dense clouds to minor streams. The farther you get underground the more flow you encounter.
