Personal history

Vilert was born in a lower class family on Ophania. He started stealing as a child to help his family get by. His village was attacked by bandits while he was away trying to make money in the capital and there were only a few survivors, none from his family.After that he left Ophania for Jiddos where he lived on the streets for awhile. He soon found an abandonned house in an older district.

While he wasn't originally planning on doing it, he started housing a few street rats who had nowhere and no one to go to. With time, not only did they grew in number but they also got older. It ended up being around twenty thieves and other petty criminals living together and all refered to him as their leader since he was the one who let them in the house as well as raised them for most. He was at the time the oldest of the group.

When word about him and his little ragtag family, others came to him, looking for community after being alone for years for some of them. He made sure tey were trustworthy and none of them would be a danger before he accepted them. All of them together ended up making quite a lot of money, especially considering the skills some of them still had from before they ended up on the streets, which they taught to the others, being able to make some honest money.

Together, they bought a few surrounding houses, which were pretty cheap considering the district was abandonned anyway. The group grew in size until pretty much all thieves in the capital answered to him and considered him their leader. That is when he gained his nickname as King of Thieves.

He is aromantic although he would not say no to a one night stand with someone if he found them attractive.

Education

He never had any kind of formal education and learned all he knows on the fly, or other people from his group taught him. He is, however, quite intelligent and has a lot of street smarts.

Employment

He has always been a thief, although he actually did a few jobs in security, mostly for people he knows and likes, to make their place more secure or that kind of things.

Accomplishments & Achievements

He managed to unite the thieves of the capital of Jiddos. He also has quite the network of informants. He is quite proud of robbing one of the most influencial nobles of the capital the day before aan important gala was held in his house.

Failures & Embarrassments

He once got caught stealing, resulting in the scars around his left wrist. He spent some time in jail aafter being caught a few times. When he was still living in the streets he actually let himself be caught a few times to be sent to jail when winter came or food became scarce. He once was very close to being hanged but managed to escape, he refusses to say how and tell a different story every time.

Mental Trauma

His entire family died. Living in the streets in poverty. Having some of the people he took care of, especially young children, die under his care. His time in prison.

Intellectual Characteristics

He is very intelligent but mostly he knows people. He knows how they think, how they work, and it allows him to get himself and his people out of many situations.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

At first he just tried to survive, along with his family. He went to Jiddos for a new start but ended up still being a thief, seeing as it was what he'd done for most of his life. After he started collecting other thieves, his goal was to protect them and help them go through life.  When he started following the Old Gods and learned of what was happening, his goal became to help Irvin get the kingdom through this.

Hygiene

Depending on the day. Living in an abandonned house in an empty district, he doesn't really have access to most things. He thus tries not to waste what he has. If he has to go to an upper district though, he will clean up nicely so as to not stick out.

Wealth & Financial state

While he was born lower class, he worked his way up to being the best thief in Jiddos and managed to organise thieves and petty criminals in some kind of organisation.
