Gidrakkia

A bio-luminescent, moss-like fungi that grows within the Anterak Mountains. Discovered during the excavation of Stoneforge. This plant, when exposed to water, emits a constant glow. Four variations of the fungi have been derived from the original, orange, fungi, which each emit a different color. Gidrakkia-Oragus (Orange), Gidrakkia-Vilikus (Purple), Gidrakkia-Riggus (Red), and Gidrakkia-Galakus (Green).

History & Usage

Everyday use

The fungi is most prominently used within the Anterak Mountains, where it originated, as a way to light the massive caverns that the Dwarves built their cities in. They transplanted it at a much faster rate than it would normally spread to allow it to take over most of the main city cavern. They also started encapsulating the fungi in glass bottles, adding water to the mix in order to cause the fungi to react and emit its glow. These bottles have been set up around the city as lanterns. It also works as an air purifier, which is greatly needed within the Dwarven settlements.
