Townsville

The centermost city in Eskarina located just north of Baristal. Its name comes from a ironic happenstance. It was originally named as it was a small town in the middle of no where with little to no fertile ground and not a lake or stream to bring nutrients to the soil. It was once surrounded by trees and rocky hills making it an ill suited location for trade caravans. This made it seem as though it could never be more than a simple town. However, in the year 2505KA, seemingly over night the town began to flourish. Its rocky terrain cleared, hills reduced in size from torrential rain and land revived from the aftermath. The city swiftly became a hub of trade and growth, advancing faster than walls could be constructed. Many partial attempts were made at doing so but all inevitably failed. Most often houses and new buildings would be constructed in the way of future wall segments. Especially recently however the construction of the academies, particularly the massive wall surrounding the academy of arms. Future prospects of building new walls have been quashed by traditionalist lords stating "the city has always been without a wall and has never feared." Likewise the name has yet to be changed. Conservative parties cite the extensive costs of changing ledgers, charters, documents, sign, seals, and more.   Despite its odd nature and origin the city has thrived in cultural development and advancement. It is the home, or at least claims the surrounding region of interest, to many of the academies of higher education. The closeness of these academies have led to the creation of an elite guard corps and the ominous, ever patrolling, Ædreell. It also earns a substantial profit in taxation during the Gastronomical Competition hosted there.
