Gavtig

A broad single edged blade curves slightly from a likewise curved handle. Its mass reduced by a dished blade surface. Unlike most swords of the Hook or the Bay of Hounds only a small disk protects the hand of the user. Many blades of varying size, curvature, and length also retain the name Gavtig when referred to by outsiders but each various type has its own name if you asked the Korelians. Likewise polearms with similar blade shapes can be seen among guardsman and the few military formation but and are simply called Ogavtig.
