Cairen

Cairen is the goddess of fire, destruction, and rebirth.   Her folllowing is tainted by infamous cult following that focus on her destructive nature more than her other aspects. These groups have been known to set set things, people, buildings, and even whole cities ablaze in order to "cleanse" them of some "evil" and return them to what they call the Great Flame. Cairen's less destructive followers still burn effigies and practice all manner of things behind closed doors but are seen by their cult bretheren as a radicalized civil group who have strayed from her teachings. For their part these "radicals" are shunned in towns and practice their faith almost entirely behind closed doors.   Cairen is most frequently represent by a flame with radiating points and many followers claim to have visions of her as a flaming bird in "holy fire ceremonies" similar to those held by some tribal groups. This has earned her the title of the Firehawk. Many who claim to have received her blessing speak of an inner warmth or fire that may have protected them from harsh weather or aided them in a conflict. While her cult claims that they feel no harsh heat from the fires they set this is actually a sign of her disfavor preventing them from receiving her warmth and those who have particularly angered the goddess have fallen deathly ill of fever. Though it was due to her cult based followers the most prominent memory that stirs when mentioning this goddess is that of the burning of Lulegwharf.   godly relations.
